The botanical garden “Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens” is situated at the slope of Table Mountain in a level of 100 – 1,000 metres and in a vastness of 528 ha in total.

The garden is split in different areas showing the country’s specific vegetation.

After the yearly winter rainfalls in between July and September, the flora starts to blossom. Visitors find approximately 6,000 South African greens – from the national plant protea to innumerable species of heather. Various paths lead across the gardens. A round trip takes about two-three hours whereas there are guided 60minute-tours.
